Independence Day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm all across the country. Citizens decorated their houses and offices with tricolor balloons and other decorative materials. Everyone pays tribute to great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.

Why Independence Day is Celebrated.

Independence Day is a national festival of India. It is celebrated on 15th August every year. India got independence from British government on this day and it is only then we could secure our democratic rights as citizens of India. Our independence gives us the rationale to enjoy our fundamental rights laid down by the constitution. We are now a self-governed democratic country and have the voting rights. The feeling of self-reliance and freedom fills the heart of citizens with the supreme happiness and joy. It is all due to the tireless efforts and numerous sacrifices of many great people who sacrificed their lives without any fear.

Independence Day History.

India was under British rule for around 200 years. Great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev, Raj Guru, Lokmanya Tilak, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Chandra Shekhar Azad devoted their entire life for the freedom of our country. They fought for our country against the British government to make it free from their rule.

Independence Day 2020

Today we are living in a free India because of the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters. Independence ceremony is organized at the Red Fort on 15th of August. Our Prime Minister unfurls the flag here early in the morning. Lots of the people participate in the ceremony. Our Army, Navy and Air force commanders perform various patriotic activities there.

Independence Day Celebration in School

This day is also celebrated in all schools, colleges and educational institutes. National flag is unfurled by the chief guest and then National Anthem is sung by all. Guests and students give speech on this occasion. Patriotic songs are sung by the students. Many cultural activities are arranged on this day. Sweets are distributed to everyone.

France celebrates its Independence Day on 14th of July every year. It is also known as the French National Day.

Japan celebrates its Independence Day on 11th of February every year. Japan got independence in 1952.It is known as a day of National Pride.

Independence Day of Korea is celebrated on 15th of August every year as National Liberation Day of Korea.

Independence Day of  USA

Independence Day of USA is celebrated on 4th of July every year but the public holiday date is 5th of July.

Independence Day of China

China celebrates the China's National Day on 1st of October every year. On 1st October 1949 Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong announced the creation of People's Republic of China.
